He probably should have been arrested that day, yes. But that's not related to his being disarmed and shot days later.
No”probably” about it. He would be alive today if he had been arrested then, as he should have been. ALL of these agitators should be arrested at first offense and carted off for processing and booking.
Well the ICE gestapo is apparently unable to handle any civilian unrest except by shooting people or smashing their heads. So that’s kind of a problem.
Although MPD (in DC) has its own issues, one thing it does very well is crowd control during protests. This is learnable stuff.

Right?! The audacity! Totally deserved getting shot 10 times.
They didn't shoot him 10 times. That's obviously AI.
Lol

It's shocking to me that people are pretending the video is fake. ANYTHING to advance the narrative that he was just a nice, normal, everyday person. Which is quickly falling apart.

So, Pretti's stupidity is on vivid display. What happened in a split-second mass of people is less clear. Perhaps the agents will be found to have done something wrong. Perhaps not. But there is no question about Pretti's actions.
2A is not a shield or a protection from bad decisions. Any firearms instructor will advise you not to carry in this type of situation, and not to resist, interfere or engage police while armed.
Carrying a weapon comes with great responsibility, and requires good judgement and decision making. Pretti exercised none of that.
If simply being stupid got Americans shot by law enforcement, you'd definitely be dead and so would most of us. The poorly trained ICE idiots are making city cops seem like geniuses at this point.
At their trials you know that they will use their lack of training as a mitigating circumstance.
