I think one thing we've seen this year, is that the talent level in VHSL Class 6A is a lot deeper overall. Just look at public vs private matchups across the board. a number of the area publics hang with area privates (I am not saying they are better overall, just that publics do better today than they have over the years - and yes, I realize that the overall talent in high school may not be what it used to). We are seeing a lot more competitive games among top Class 6 teams, where any number of teams can beat others in a given game. Ultimately a rising tide should left all boats and it will help the development of area lacrosse and players.

Valid. Northwestern beat up a lot of talented top 10 teams winning many games by 5-10 goals.

Agreed. Saw all these teams play and some excellent lacrosse (always room for improvement). Many of the teams already eliminated ranked Top 10 in the state and played with the best in close losses often by 1 or 2 goals. Lot of great lacrosse and more to come! Not to mention Langley and West Springfield too in the list above.
Great point - saw a lot of teams play and Yorktown, Langley, West Springfield, South Lakes, and West Potomac were all so close. Nice to see a lot of close games as brings up the level of play as lopsided games are no fun for anybody.
Put West Po and West Spring and Langley in the Concorde and they don’t even make regionals. Keep up the laughs though

Westfield? Lol that’s what you base this on from an early season close game? And South lakes didn’t even make it out of first round regionals. West Potomac and West Springfield are not good
If that’s your logic, then the Concorde after Madison and Oakton is not really that good…

There is a reason why Region D is nicknamed "Region of Doom" -- so many teams ranked top 10 in the state but only 2 advance. It is like the Highlander movies but instead of the "There can be only one" ---> "There can be only two".

West Po would most likely finish 3rd in Concorde and knock Centreville out of Regionals. Solid team!

Ok back to the issue at Oakton.
Someone needs to call child services… on the parents of these young girls! Stating that this has been going on for years and you never reported it, you let or forced your girls to play, and you allowed them to put their health at risk? Or did you send a message that it’s Okay because you are winning but lose a few games and oh know they are mistreating my daughter. Have there been any complaints when they were winning… either way according to you the parents it’s only now an issue…. What kind of parents are you? Pretty much saying by your actions… winning is everything but not my daughter’s well being.

All the talk about Colgan’s soft schedule is true but they are a good team I totally agree. They travel down to Cosby and Battlefield host Ocean Lakes. I imagine they meet again next week unless Cosby is as good as their record.
Great game tonight by both teams. Difference between them 7 on scoring sheet for Battlefield 3 only for Colgan. Battlefield well balanced.
