She is just plain nuts and has acted like she has never seen a tree before. Yet their Richmond lot had a damn forest behind it.
No way. They’re definitely going to rent it out after they finish renovating it. Remember, they were renting out their duplex all summer, why wouldn’t they rent out another beach house?
Because they hated it. They don't like to have to take care of a property and clean after each rental. They also said they don't want to pay someone to do it. So that leaves the to do it and they said they didnt like it.
Not true.

The plastic shelf helps us store toilet paper, paper towels, kitchen trash bags, and extra linens in case the cleaners don’t have time to fully launder everything between guests – or if they find something that has been stained or ripped that needs quick replacing. We’re learning that these very short turnover windows make it really important to have extra items on hand so there’s not a huge last minute panic. Here’s hoping!
Correct, they had cleaners who did some of the cleaning, but they also did a lot of it themselves to the point where they were running around trying to get laundry done, cleaning the back patio, and making sure everything was staged perfectly all in the 5 hr window before the next guests arrived. It sounded like a headache.

Disagree- they will flip it. The duplex in cape Charles showed they are absolutely not cut out for renting. They were obsessed about potential issues and minor details the whole time they rented that place...

I feel bad for her kids, they took them away from a beautiful home in Richmond where they lived near cousins and grandparents all so Sherry could live by the beach. The son's room is essentially a closet. I've always thought that they were selfish, it was clear that the kids didn't do activities because they were always free to head to Cape Charles all fall and spring, but this sealed the deal.
Lots of us live in small houses, around 1000 square feet with 2/3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. It isn't a big deal. Our bedrooms are tiny. We only sleep or read/ipad in them.

The bedrooms are tiny. Their furniture is too big for the space and they brought too much and have to cut down even more. I have no idea why they didn’t just buy a Florida vacation house ... this is their permanent residence now.
A lot of people on Reddit are speculating they will definitely sell within a year or two. Apparently if they wait two years they can avoid capital gains taxes. I agree with a lot of the other criticism here. I think the house has a poor layout, and it also has a lot of serious damage that they did not realize when they purchased it – extensive water damage, probably mold, and the septic system was all messed up and the house had not been lived in for years.
And they paid a lot of money for it. It just doesn’t make sense, they had a beautiful home in Richmond, their family and the kids friends are there, and they moved to this tiny house near the beach. I feel bad for their kids losing that proximity to friends and family. Ones bedroom is a laundry closet
