Fortunately, we bought two of that one, so he's usually clean, but I'm sure his teachers wonder what's up with us as a family that he always wears the same shirt (he wears it to school every day - it's possible that he takes it off, in which case he's wearing one of the two t-shirts he finds acceptable).
Almost all middle school boys just wear the same hoodie every single day.

like a teenage boy is focused on "being elegant"
Some are. Americans dress really badly. It's disrespectful.

We recently culled everything from his closet that he does not love and wears for this season. He now only has clothes that he is wearing every day. 6 hoodies, 8 pants, 12 long sleeve t-shirts, 1 heavy weight parka, 2 sherpa fleece polar hoody jackets. Some basketball shorts and t-shirts to wear as pjs. Here's what is different from previous years - he did not want sweaters, fleece pullovers and jeans. He did not want PJs and robes. He has two button down shirts and two formal pants, that is for dressier occasions. That's it. He is pretty much wearing a uniform to school and that is what all his friends are wearing. He also wanted most of his stuff from Nike to support Colin Kaepernick and so there is that too.
