Since you don't know the girls, I'd just give them a card with a $20 bill inside.

$25 is great. That's what we gave to our neighbor who graduated high school. She was excited we gave her something. When she leaves for college I will probably get her something she can use like a Target gift card.

Funny when I started reading the thread I was like wow this is so similar to the question I had a long time ago and then I looked at the date and realized it was my post!

For people you don’t know well, I think you could absolutely do one or two $20 bills.

$20$20 is perfect! Or go in with some of the neighbors for a more substantial gift card if someone is willing to take the trouble. These kids better acknowledge all gifts in writing since their parents are soliciting them. Hate when 18 year olds don't know enough to write proper thank you notes. Gave $500 to my nephew about 3 years ago and got a card with his name scribbled and addressed by his mother.

I would send an invoice for $100 for an hour of my time. That's a discounted amount from my normal billing rate which is $550.
