I do it for every woman I date. I've discovered past marriages, ongoing marriages that were supposedly over, and even the fact that a beautiful woman used to be a man. Most women don't mind after a couple of dates but some feel stalked. I assume everyone does it to me, but most women apparently don't.

It’s standard practice, I assume, but it’s probably better to hold off on super detailed googling until after the first meeting so as not to bias your initial encounter too much.

I agree that searching is a necessity. But there are a number of weirdos I have dealt with who will aggressively interrogate you like you are on a witness stand based on something that they’ve found online. Maybe it’s mental condition or racially motivated.

Guy here. Not in the market since pre-google, but if a date mentioned to me she googled me, I would just laugh about it and make some harmless joke. Not a big deal at all.

Guy here. I google every girl I'm interested in. A first name and a place they work is all you need.

Once I found out that a girl who gave me her number was married that way.
