Subject: weaning.... do you use mustard?
I weaned all my kids cold turkey. They LOVED nursing and it was a huge comfort for them but by the time they were 2, I was so ready to be done.
I didn't do mustard, or band aids, but I wore a sports bra and told them that nursing was all done. Theres no more milk and they were big enough for a cup now. That's it. Repeat 100x the first day but it was a ton less on day 2 and by day 3 it was over.

I dropped feeds slowly.
I would not do anything sour, just redirect and say no. Try to keep to a schedule.

I didn’t even know “weaning” was a verb that could be assigned to the child. I thought the mom weaned and the baby was weaned.

If OPs baby still hasn’t weaned, it’s probably time to try the mustard. Or professional help.

Ridiculous. Put a bandaid on nipple and tell kid "broken,".

16mos is too young for this but I successfully weaned all my of my dc at around 2yo by putting bandaids over my nipples and saying I have a boo-boo. Very little crying, I would just keep showing them my boo-boo when they asked. They got it. I don't believe in "dropping sessions." That's confusing for dc and feels like rejection.
