For older men (or women) who were not athletic younger or lifted weights consistently it is very difficult to build muscle in your 40s and beyond.

I am man who has never had serious weight issues but have gotten out of shape now and again. But as a father of teens I believe showing that eating healthy and exercising regularly sets a good example. Fat men should do whatever they need to be healthy just like fat women.

Getting ripped without the benefit of muscle memory may not be possible for most people, no matter what GLP or diet they pursue.

That's what my DH does, just starts running in the spring to drop the 5# he put on in winter. rinse and repeat. He loses it overnight too.

Wish my DH would. Men are too comfortable and shouldn't be surprised when they're not getting any.

I am noticing more skinny fat dads as opposed to just regular fat at the pool so I’m guessing that’s the glp drugs.

Can you get muscular while taking them?

DH has been on Ozempic for well over a year and lost minimal weight. He does drink less and never ate a lot - just has the worst metabolism.

I definetely eat way more than he does, but he is terrible about exercise.

My husband is sexy even when he's heavier. I'm not. C'est la vie

This is true, I have a good friend (male) on GLPs and he's lost minimal weight because he has a drinking issue. I was actually surprised when he said he was going on then because I had assumed there would be some restriction based on how much you drink. He has likely 30+ drinks per week.

I am a woman on a GLP-1 and it has completely eradicated my desire for alcohol. I wasn't drinking 30+ drinks per week but I was drinking most nights and now . . . nothing.

Me too. It's crazy. Not the same for DH. He still eats like crap and drinks, albeit less. But our brains and behaviors definitely reacted differently to the medicine. And he's on the full dose while I'm on a small dose!

Yes they are!

They are but not about their weight.

Where are you hanging out that there are a bunch of fat men? Rich guys are active, work out, ski, they aren't overweight and if they were they aren't anymore.
