My other GE one died at 5 years. Any recs for a reliable and longer lasting one? Or am I better off just buying a midrange whirlpool or Maytag instead of spending over $1000 for a brand like Kitchenaid? Other option is roll the die and fix current one.
Well, Whirlpool, Maytag, and KitchenAid are all Whirlpool brands, so if you go that route, just pick the one that has all of the features you want and don't worry about the brand.
People I know tend to love or hate their Bosch's. There is no in between - half the people I know that have had them HATED them, the other half love them. The appliance repairman we have used for a couple things has told us he owns a Whirlpool dishwasher and that's what he would buy again. He says the most expensive to repair is Bosch. He won't repair Samsung or LG appliances.
