It's a long-standing tradition that dining facilities around the force try to offer a surf and turf night occasionally, especially for troops who are deployed.
It's not Red Lobster quality by any means. But it's a small thing that makes many smile for a few minutes when they're separated from family for months in parts of the world that pathetic cowards like @rothschildmd wouldn't dare go.
Guys like him are fine with endless troop rotations so American can be the global police, so long as they're eating field rations the entire time.

People on here are so removed from the world of military service that they think the troops are eating MREs for three meals a day for the entirety of their service.

I'm not going to "listen and learn." If the Pentagon has extra unspent $$, it should go to lasting improvements in the lives of enlisted servicemen/women. Increase VA funding, improve enlisted living quarters, give the enlisted a bump in pay, etc. etc etc. It's like when businesses throw a big Christmas party for their employees and think it's some big perk or gesture--most employees would rather see that money in their paychecks.

That kind of spending suggests a WWIII level deployment. I think the more logical take is that Hegseth and his buddies are binging luxury meals on taxpayer dime just like the little ghetto welfare queens they are.
There was no WWIII level deployment in September when some of these huge buys were happening...
