At the press conference, the police they have no idea about a motive at this point, emphasizing that part of the investigation is in the very early stages. They just conducted searches of two homes associated with the perpetrator, so perhaps they'll have a better indication after going through all of that.

The sound of the shooting didn’t wake Fuller’s partner, according to charging documents."

Wow. And then they did not find Fuller until the morning of Valentine's Day at 0730.

In assisted living in Maryland, they are supposed to check on residents every two hours. I guess the police have to figure out what happened and when between the time the meds were administered and the body was found at 0730 because something seems really odd.

**supposed** to check...yeah, ok

What was the motive? The staff at my parents' assisted living facility are hit or miss -- some are monsters. But I never would have thought of something like this. You never know what people are capable of.

How was he even hired to do such an important job? I have a hard time believing this was his first crime.

I feel like the internet sleuths of DCUM could solve this quickly. Such a weird story. He sounds like a lovely man.

How does he sound like a lovely man? There's almost no information out about him.

I'm not PP but there were other articles about his generosity, donating millions to various causes and his friends and colleagues were very complimentary about him.

Sweet Jesus.

I never even thought of something like this happening to my parent at assisted living.

They do not check for guns.

This is beyond horrible.

Or killed in order to steal. Given the victim was a millionaire, he might have had Rolex or smth like that in his room.

Maybe the arrested person was caught stealing by the deceased. Very sad and scary.

I am not surprised with this either. My elderly mom lives with my sibling. She has money for 24 hr care, but she has only kept a lady attendant who comes from morning 9 am stays till 4 pm. My sibling has a whole barrage of part time employees - daily cook who comes for an hour, daily cleaner to clean the house and do dishes, someone to water the plants and take care of the lawn etc. We have CCTV all over the house and in all rooms.

We make sure that periodically we invited relatives for meals etc so that they can meet my mom and her brain remains active. The one thing we do fear is the greed of people working for us. So we live a simple and pared down life. There are no valuables at home that can be stolen.
