Harvey Mudd is the more science focused school. Excellent school.

So many DCUM posters seem to live in a cartoon world where they are sure that their bizarre uninformed opinions dictate reality.

In the real world, half my kid’s tours of the 5Cs were DMV kids, the family sitting next to us at drop off were from Silver Spring, and my kid lived with his high school bestie all 4 years.

Yes. Obviously.

Incredible place. Very diverse and agree with earlier posters - quite liberal overall. CMC is the most conservative but that isn’t saying much. Gaining popularity on the East Coast. Similar student bodies to the SLAC in the Northeast. Amazing education but big price tag.

Plenty of kids want to go. You don't know everything about the experience a student has, what they know, and what they want from a college

I know quite a few smart east coast parents who seek out CMC for their children but one daughter couldn’t make the cut so enrolled at Scripps and attended courses at CMC. Pomona is viewed as too woke.

It seems everyone knows someone who applied or attends from the east coast

They’re completely different schools and would not agree to a single application lol.

Your second comment is mostly bs.

One app for all and you get admitted to the best fit or rejected from them all.

You can just apply to them then? I’m not sure the reasoning you have. They have separate admissions departments and schools.

It’s inefficient

I would only apply to Pomona. That said, even Pomona doesn't really have a name outside the US.

Not many schools do.
