In my country, poor people dress in poor clothing; everyone can see this.

If you are not poor then you buy the best clothing. The poor people would do this too but they cannot afford good clothing.

This is obvious. What question is asked here?

I judge when the dad is dressed in athletic wear or dressed several steps less nice than the rest of the family. See that lot and I hate it.

I don't have to judge because I have too many more important things in my life. It would have to be extreme like someone wearing a hate message on a t-shirt or one of those t shirts with an image of a really big-boobed women with their boobies hanging out or something like that for me to take the time to judge.

I only judge the parents when you let your little kids glue their faces to a screen instead of learning how to interact with the real world.

I know the love bracelet is about $8k bc my friend bought one for herself this fall after a big work promotion. That's why it caught my eye. This woman had 3 on plus two tennis bracelets - which is pretty sparkly for a soccer field. Plus an LV bag and golden goose sneakers.

My knowledge of the bracelets was random, not because I stalk fashion. I merely estimated the other stuff and landed her above $30k simply bc those three bracelets are at least $24k.

I like to think I don’t judge people by what they wear but to be candid, when I see a two year old in a Patagonia/TNF puffer I think the parents are wasteful. Those pieces of clothing will be used for two months, tops, before they’re outgrown. I really hope they hand them down to next sibling. Even then…

This, and agree with those examples! Unless there is a massive label on it I wouldn't recognize it as designer or not, plus lots of designers sell at less exclusive stores, don't they? So why would I ascribe any meaning to it being designer?

DCUM introduced me to the middle age I don’t care club. It was the best thing ever.

Judge me and my cheap clothes all you want. I really don’t care. Like many adults, I’m on a shot and rapidly losing so I’m not spending much on clothes right now. I’m looking a bit rough.

One of my teens is in expensive clothes because as a typical teen, that’s important to her. So be it. The other teen has never been that into clothes.

Judge away.

Do you know goth moms and dads? I’m guessing you don’t. There’s a reason these phenomena are associated with youth culture, so no, I would never judge the parents since it has nothing to do with them. Nor the kids themselves, since they’re just being kids.

Having raised two teens, one thing I totally respect in other parents is those who embrace these phases in their kids. They don’t shame them or crop them out of the family photos. Unconditional love is truly admirable.
