There are plenty of girls who want to go back, including those from Guadalupe 2nd term who were in the floods. It is very complicated but to put it simply - for the campers it is about being with their friends and having the camp experience. They could care less about who runs the place. I know that is the parents’ job and I know there are some who won’t allow it but others who will, especially those of the older girls. I am not going to judge.

That's nice of you, but most of us will judge parents who knowingly put their kids in known potential danger, especially so their kids can have a camp experience with their friends.

I understand. But they will not be in danger. They are not using the Guadalupe location.

So you have learned nothing. God, you're criminally stupid.

Speaking of stupid…..

What part of “they aren’t using the property that was flooded last year” did you not understand?

So if they aren’t using the spot that got flooded, how exactly haven’t they learned anything?

Because the owners are money-grubbing murderers who do not understand, and will never understand, safety in any form. Once a person shows you who they are, believe them. You think they care about fire safety, tornado safety, food safety?

Yes, you are criminally stupid.

What part of "they clearly don't care about emergency procedures or prioritize safety" don't you understand?

The operators of this camp clearly showed horrible judgment on multiple occasions, so, no, I would not trust my children with them.

This timeline is horrifying. The girls could have been saved

I agree with you, OP. Absolutely horrifying.

I went to Camp Mystic and am appalled that they’re reopening. I am also appalled at some of the comments on this thread.

It's not just about current safety. It's about not giving one cent more to the family who was so negligent and greedy for money that they killed a bunch of innocent children.

You want your money to go to murderers?

It will go to pay out lawsuits and camp counselors.

I would never let my child be a camp counselor for murderers.

What if there is a fire or other issue? The camp owners have shown their lack of emergency plan or any critical thinking skills.

My guess is after last summer, Mystic will be the safest camp in the country.

I doubt it. I worked in a camp that had a life threatening accident due to negligence. I was there the following summer and was horrified by the lack of safety awareness. I think people who don’t take safety seriously don’t change.

It’s sounding more and more like a cult.
