Are you trying to imply that 6 players from the #27 & #153 ranked teams got invited because of their coaches picking roster and not based on evaluations at tryouts?

Fixed this to show who the other coach is affiliated with.

Looking at AA Baltimore 2030 by club & 2025 final ranking

3 M&D Black #2
1 MDU #3
7 Hero’s Green #6
4 Coppermine #9
0 BLC #10 (likely DC team)
4 Skywalkers #27 (coach of team)
1 Crush #33
2 Integrity #153 (coach of team)
1 2031 (HG)

Seems underrepresented at M&D and MDU but no idea how many from those teams tried out.

That is always the question - who actually attended the tryouts? 3 of the 4 AS Maryland coaches are M&D coaches, so I have a hunch most of them will go there. the other is MDU.

Was there anyone that excelled at tryouts and got left out?

So only 1 2031 made it? Why even combine age groups?

That was indicative of how competitive Baltimore was. Other regions were more of a mix. DC team had 4 or 5 players who were 2030s playing with 29s last year and so did other regions.

Up until two years ago, AA didn’t have a team for rising 9th graders.

I honestly think they added a rising 9th grader team and allowed rising 8th to try out to try to keep pace with AS.

Last year only 1 2030 made it.

Advantage:
no B teams so that helps in making more exclusive

Less regions overall

The AA Senior game is a big deal and it helps to have AA under your belt

Disadvantage:
Outside of LI & MD, the competition is really poor with some regions really struggling due to AS being the top option

AS imo better with social media, tied to hip with BIC which leads to more opportunities.

While I think it really depends on what your kid is looking for, I agree with above 100%

I generally agree. AS has done an amazing job of marketing, which is what much of this is. Have done both and feel AS coaching and event was not as good as AA in our experience, but it’s well marketed and packaged, if that makes sense.

Tryouts are on March 15, so sometime after that.

And there seem to more politics and back room deals with AS. My kid has done both, AS made some terrible roster mistakes with cuts and roster assignments. With AA, there were only a few head scratchers, but they got it mostly right. Do AA if you can, but AS is still a great experience if your kid gets on.

i don't see coaches names for the DC area, are they listed elsewhere?

Names are on the website.

I see "TBD" for the DC/VA coaches.

If you can’t find the names here under 2026 Burn Coaches then you cannot be helped:

You seem informed. Can you tell me who the American Select coaches are?
