The party worked in overdrive to get Zohran unelected. They got Eric Adams to drop out and Crooked Cuomo to ran as an indepdent.

The party couldnt call children being killed and starved a genocide.

When a worker making $10/hr asks for a living wage because everything is unaffordable, they never speak up. the corporate lobbyist money gets them back in line.

The Democrats dont offer anything. They win because the alterntive gets voted out not because they offered anything.

Democrats are pragmatists. They don't blow up existing structures and alliances. They work within the system to enact positive change. Biden was doing exactly that, it's just not thrown in your face witb a bunch of "only I can do xyz, and have succeeded like no one else ever".

If the Dems deserve a criticism it's that they don't let people know about the good stuff their doing and why.

This is nonsense. They were attached to AIPAC money. Pragmatism is not their problem. If it was, why did they push out Al Franken over nonsense?

Yep he would have easily won. No one is buying what HRC was selling.

That was the first election my eldest voted in and I remember feeling bad that her first chance to cast her ballot was in an election where you had Republicans who were so upset about Trump that they said they were going to vote Democratic AND Democrats who were so upset because they felt Bernie had been cheated out of the nomination that they were going to vote Republican.

A lot of Trump’s appeal is that he portrays himself as something different, and a large portion of the electorate had concluded that the status quo had failed them and they were desperate to grasp at anything new. Hillary was practically the standard bearer for the status quo. Bernie, at least, represented change, and seemed to at least consider the interests of the average, non-elite, citizen.

It certainly didn’t help that Hillary skipped campaigning altogether in some states. They didn’t have big money or many electoral votes, and they tended to go Democrat anyway. It was more efficient to campaign strategically where the stakes were higher. Stopping by to eat rubber chicken, pretending to listen and care about their concerns, and pick up their (smaller) checks, wasn’t worth her time and effort - after all, what choice did they have. It turned out the had the choice to not turn out and vote for her, contributing to her loss. The Democrats took that as a sign that the system was broken and the electoral college system needed to be abolished so that those voters could be completely ignored without consequence. Democrats entirely missed the bigger lesson, the one that the founders embedded in the electoral college that ALL voters are important.

Democrats need to realize that it is the politicians role to serve the voters and not the other way around. Stop telling them what their priorities should be and start listening to them tell you what their priorities actually are. And please, please, stop insulting them. Let them disagree with you on issues without accusing them of being evil and/or stupid and seek enough common ground to give them reason to vote for you anyway. Once you’re in power, you can do whatever you want on whatever issues you want, but without the voters all you can do is complain.

I’m a conservative who has been voting straight Democratic tickets to oppose Trump and MAGA. I realize that this means if my candidate wins, their actions on many issues will be contrary to what I would wish, however at this point, I feel that preserving freedom outweighs any and all specific issues, which we can debate again after the crisis has been resolved. If I, and the many other conservative never-Trumpers, are willing to accept the loss on issues for the greater good, I wish the Democrats were willing to compromise enough to accept the win.

Total BS. Here's a concrete example - when Democrats were in charge they passed the CHIPS act and established the Minerals Security Partnership including GREENLAND.

Never heard of it? That because the Dems get stuff done with minimal drama.

Everyone should know by now that Trump will eventually move on to the next media storm leaving the whole Greenland thing unresolved. Dems get stuff done.

I'm not a fan of Newsom (used to live in CA), but he's been a lot more ballsy lately, which is why his approval ratings have gone up.

I don't know how it is that Democrats can't get anything done when they're the majority party because of Republican obstruction, but the Republicans can get shit done when they're the majority party even when their margins are identical. Yes, this. Trump has shown us Sh*t can get done. The bipartisan Obamacare has failed to curtail costs (for both the individual as well as the healthcare system as a whole) or produce healthier outcomes (Americans are more unhealthy than ever). No, they don’t “have to” move to the center. Every time they do that, the Republicans shift further to the right. The cycle repeats until the moderate position is well into right-wing territory. It’s an age-old Republican strategy. Ever notice how they don’t call for Republicans to stop shoving Nazi-curious candidates down our throats and appeal more to mainstream America?
