Alexis - fine whatever but it sounds like it is already a nickname. Also gender neutral.

Alexandra is classic. Goes well with Patrick.

There are a lot of moms named Alexis right now but not a lot of little kids/babies. So I think in the cycle of names, it's not currently in.

I'd go with Alexa.

To me, Alexia (and Alexa) sound like abbreviations for Alexandra. I’d name the child Alexandra, and call her Alexia.

Alexis reads like a full name. Both are nice, but I prefer Alexia to Alexis for no particular reason. Whatever you pick, congrats on the baby!

Like a few PPs have pointed out, Alexia refers to word blindness and a frozen french fries brand. And it sounds/looks like someone wanting to use Alexa as a name but changing it just a bit so not the same at Amazon's Alexa. People will mistake it for Alexa anyway. Would not choose.

Alexis I've never thought of negatively. And that Lexus joke I've heard maybe once and is dumb. I like that Alexis is a totally fine name -- I know one 40 yo Alexis and one 15 yo Alexis who both go by Alexis-- and that there are also the Lexi and Allie/Aly options.

They would only be trashy if you used trashy spellings like Alexeeah and Alexus. That applies to every name though.

That one is more of a personal connotation (based on the people that I have met) rather than a widespread view. I have met multiple trashy Heathers (along with Kaylas and Briannas/Breannas/Brianas).

When I think of trashy names, I think of names like Nevaeh, Crystal, Destiny, Jaxon, Kinsley, Braxton, Hunter, Diamond, Heather, etc. Alexis does not even cross my mind.

My daughter's name is Alexia. We were going to name her Alexandra until DH came across Alexia and decided that he liked it more. Ironically, she is the only one of our children that likes her name. Our other children have more classic names (Abigail, Rebecca, Samuel, Elizabeth) and dislike them.

We do not own an Amazon Alexa, so that has never been a big deal to us. I think that issue is somewhat overstated.

I know an Alexia and she is always referred to as "Alexa." No one gets her name right.
