Do you think that Canada is waiting for an opportune time to invade ?
Huh? No, federal workers just want to know if they will have a day off or whether they need to use leave or work that day. Usually the president closes the government on 12/26 when it’s a Friday, but federal workers have learned not to expect anything positive this year.
Didn't most Federal Workers just have 40 days of closure?
No, most Feds were working daily without knowing when the next paycheck would come.

OP here—I think 12/24 is less likely than 12/26 because Xmas is on a Thursday, and presidents seem to prefer to pick a day to close that will make a long weekend. But you never know, 12/24 has happened before in the middle of the week!
Christmas is the correct terminology

If you want the day off take a sick day but spare us another trump bashing thread.

You must know by now, this president is nothing like previous presidents. My guess is no for 12/24 and another no for 12/26. But 12/25, yes.

Assume you have to work the entire day, and consider it a happy gift if you don't. Just as I have for many years. If you are that desperate to go home early a couple of hours on the 26th, put in for annual leave.
