This kind of attitude is why so many kids are so stressed out about admissions and “prestige.” Horrible thing to say about a very impressive kid who is headed to an excellent school and is likely thrilled (as he should be) that he just got what he wanted and worked hard to get.

Someone who likes Emory and also understands that highly selective schools don’t admit just on stats, no matter how good they are.

Dang. I'm sure there a lot of Emory Test Optional apps that will be getting admits with SAT's much lower than that (35% TO generally) with similar GPA's. Your DS has good numbers. He will get in somewhere good. Stay patient.
