If your child transfers to a good school, he/she risks being laughed at due to being so far behind the other students.
Yep, they don't start instruction in how to read until the second grade (7-8 year olds).
Literally how most of the countries we regularly aspire to be like in terms of education do it ( teach reading at a later age when the child is developmentally ready). News flash: they end up doing better than US kids on international standards.
