I would look at WashU. Really strong academics like Williams but offers a real opportunity in ED rounds (unlike Williams).

Not WASP-B. Almost any other SLAC it helps though. Midd: the U. of Chicago of SLACs.
Stop with the WASP-B nonsense already!
Bowdoin has a lower acceptance rate (6.8%) compared to these schools, including a lower ED acceptance rate (14.8%). USNWR ranks it above Pomona and its endowment is greater than Swarthmore. I don't care about an acronym but its a school that is definitely on par with the 4 that are represented in WASP.
My kid hoping for ED2.

They often defer to RD.
This makes zero sense. Kids apply to Vandy RD because they don’t want to be bound,

Middlebury is one of few that truly gives you a boost in ED.
100%, and it's an added boost if you indicate that you're fine with starting in either September or February.
+1 my unhooked DD got accepted to Midd ED2 after Bowdoin ED1 rejection. She indicated preference for Sept but okay with Feb and got in for Sept

But then you have to go to Middlebury

Good luck to your kid OP! Hoping Williams comes through.
Hi fellow potential Swarthmore parent! My kid also hoping for Swat Friday would possibly ED2 to Bowdoin or Hamilton. Wash U is interesting - urban and bigger but a fantastic school of course. Good luck to your kid!

I'd appreciate this as well.
WASP-B
WASP-B
WASP-B
What school is this?
No clue what the B stands for. The WASP (I’ve learned this year from this site only) apparently stands for Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore, Pomona. I guess it’s for private school rich kids who want to go to a tiny expensive college? I don’t know because I don’t run in circles where those schools are discussed. We’re just low class public school people.
it's Bowdoin. and FWIW, these tiny expensive schools usually have huge endowments per student and offer more aid than a lot of places. My kid got into BC with zero aid and Williams with 40k in aid last year.
