We just left Maine. Remote work helped drive up home prices to insane numbers. The natural beauty was astounding but I am happy back in mainstream Midwest. We sold $310K over what we bought for in 2017.

Why did you leave?

Colorado. Love the atmosphere and beauty.
But with kids in the NE, I’d stay in the NE.

I’d check out Santa Fe or Taos, NM for a little bit. I’ve actually never been, but the southwest (and small towns/cities) are things that I haven’t really experienced (besides a vacation to the Grand Canyon and Sedona). I’d probably end up doing a lot of driving in my free time to visit Chaco national historic parks and the national parks in southwest Colorado. Depending on your work schedule the time zone change could be a challenge.
