I'm not even going to read through this whole thread to say, aside from property nutrition, it's genetics and that's all you can do.

Height concerns should be discussed with your kid’s pediatrician especially if your kid stops growing (height and feet) or falls off their growth curve. Don’t just atttibute slow growth to late puberty.

I made that mistake after my son (who always tracked over 50 percentile) didn’t grow for over a year. I thought we were also measuring incorrectly and his growth stopped just after an annual checkup. The pediatrician almost didn’t catch it a year later until I brought it up at the end of sons checkup, then pediatrician sent him for a growth hormone blood test which showed a significant deficiency!

Fast forward one year later (waiting for endocrinologist checks then tests then more tests) and my son just started growth hormone supplementation—very expensive and may not be totally effective because he was diagnosed so late.

However, you could focus on excellent nutrition for your kids. Veggies, whole grains, legumes. Plant based meals.

Apparently it is what many millennial and younger women do these days. Devalue men based on being under 6ft.

TONS of red meat and fats.

But it's mostly genetic when talking an individual. Now over many generations, people who eat only red meat tend to grow really tall, but that would be his great great great great great grandkids, not him.

Only three things -

Jumping, squats, shooting hoops and hanging from bar. (https://www.hingehealth.com/resources/articles/squat/)

Lots of protein, Vitamin D, Calcium, Magnesium, Vitamin K2 MK7, probiotics like yogurt and keffir for gut health.

Lots of good quality sleep.

But what if the height the boy is “supposed to be” is not tall enough ?

Is this the OP? You are mentally ill…there is no “not tall enough.” But, guess what? Fat is something you can control, you should focus your efforts there because that will actually affect his health.

Keep telling your son he won't amount to anything if he isn't of "adequate height". Keep drilling it into him over and over. Tell him how disappointed you are by his short stature.

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING YOU CAN DO.

I didn't do absolutely nothing... I"m 5.4", my husband 6". Our boys are 6.1" and 6.2" but I didn't do ANYTHING to make that happened. Stop playing GOD people!.

You yourself are average height you made children with a man who is above average height and you are of a socioeconomic background that endured your kids received adequate nutrition and healthcare from before birth.you and your husband likely had the same this optimization of height potential

I would be more concern with his weight right now. 85% for weight is very high when he's only 30% for height. But I'm sure the doctor told you that as well...

pp 8:52 again. My husband is 5'6". My son is convinced weight lifting in HS mattered, mattered to reach his full height potential (what he thinks, even if not proved, has importance) He saw himself as strong and an excellent athlete. Good self image.

He also suspected young men on ADHD medication were stunting their growth. That's a generalization of course.
