This. I do exercise, but not to lose weight and most of my exercise at this point is focused on putting on muscle because I'm middle aged and I want to be healthy and active as long as possible.

I do think is wild how many of you apparently have your BMIs memorized. Why? I thought BMI was a somewhat debunked metric anyway because for instance it treats weight from fat and muscle identically, and fails to account for certain body types. I thought we'd shifted to better metrics for measuring health (like looking at cardiovascular endurance and strength) and were fixating less on weight which can vary so much by person depending on how you are built.

Where do you find these metrics

Unless you are a petite woman who risks looking like a bowling pin , most woman look good with extra 10 lbs of fat especially in the hips /thighs .

Because that is the American beauty standard for white women. Are you new in our country?

Blacks and Latinos appreciate a little more junk in the trunk.

Latin cultures take a dim view of being overweight. Really only black culture is neutral to positive on being overweight. So please stop pretending that white ladies are oppressing you because they don't think your muffin top is cute.

Having a bigger ass is about natural weight distribution, not about how much you eat. A white Brit could eat all day and have a pancake ass.

Only you said overweight. Nobody said overweight.

The extra 10lb goes straight to my belly and add 80 to my LDL.

We want what’s difficult to have. Hundreds of years ago, the ideal female figure was curvy; poor women were thin and undernourished so some extra weight was a sign of wealth and health. Now calories are easy to come by so the opposite is the ideal.

I don't improve my looks with an extra ten pounds of fat, but you do you.

Obviously that message is getting through.
