My kid is there. I think the campus is quite pretty, and it’s actually in a nice coastal area. It’s not as well-appointed as some schools with a lot more money, like Williams or Bowdoin. It has a friendly vibe, and my kid is very happy.
They give pretty significant merit aid (or what some insist on calling tuition discounts). I think up to about $40K a year for kids with top stats. In my view that makes it a better deal than some slightly higher ranked schools that offer no such aid (think Bates, Colby, Hamilton, Vassar).
+1 OP, this isn’t really an appropriate forum to solicit feedback about this school. Hard to get a reasonable read from this lot. The NoVa moms hate it because it’s not VT or whatever in state school they think you should be looking at. (They love to judge how other people spend their money.) the prestige whores hate it because it’s the least selective NESCAC. And the LAC haters hate it because, well, it’s a LAC. Campus is actually quite nice, though it does show the wear that you might expect given the small endowment. Totally agree that you’d have to really think about choosing Bates over CC with a $30k discount.
