19 yrs is a lifetime in Hollywood .
Maybe they stuck it out long enough until the kids were flown & grown.

Because he's living separately, which will be obvious soon enough.
I wonder which one will go public with a new significant other first?

I was just reading about them yesterday and usually never do.

Well, they performed being in love at least. I always found it OTT, especially at their ages.
Supposedly his decision, and he moved out. There will be salacious speculation, but my guess is they really did grow apart. She works ALL the time, and he's been on tour. I don't know how she even sees her girls, much less spends any meaningful time with him. Last year was probably an especially hard year with her mother's death and awards campaigning. Plus they seem so different. She's type A, he's more chill.
Always possible they could patch things up, but I doubt it.
She has never really seemed into parenting. More of the career type trying to continue looking youthful and beautiful and runway ready.
I don’t fault her for being professionally ambitious. Seems Keith was the primary, which apparently worked for a long time. But yes pretty hard for both to satisfy their ambitions while being good parents, especially to two girls at a notoriously tough age. They need you more at that age, not less. Nicole clearly feels the pressure of an expiration date tied to aging, very tough I can imagine.
HOWEVER, not all of her projects have been top tier—far from it. She does work constantly, which means she is always away from home. She could have been even a little more selective, and found a better balance. It would have been better for her career, too.

Nicole Kidman is in a very, very small cohort of these women.
I am not surprised that the rest of her life suffers. Her personal appearance must be her top priority at all times, involving procedures, beauty routines, strict diet and exercise programs. And then she needs to market herself to all the executives out there. And then she needs to keep up with the same memorization and top notch skills she's always had as an actress.
Really, is there time for anything else?
I tend to agree....I think she is enormously ambitious and deeply hungry still professionally, and she's prone to compensating by saying she "has a strong family" "family is everything" , it always felt like such an overcompensation. She loves work and is probably a workaholic and her actions have always spoken to what she values versus ( like all of us) what she and her professional teams say. I have always thought there was likely a big gap between her private self and her persona. This one did not surprise me. She was married to Tom Cruise for over a decade. She knows exquisitely how to use her PR machine. But cracks have shown over the years.....I don't think we'll ever know the true story, just like with Cruise. I think she has a lot of secrets basically.
PP you replied to. I don't see it so negatively. Would you say an ambitious and very successful man with several past marriages has lots of secrets, is showing cracks and is deeply hungry professionally? I think it's perfectly normal for a very successful celebrity to have a public persona and a different personality in private. They have to, if they want to market themselves optimally.
I find no fault with her at all. I am merely pointing out that women at the top of their professions rarely have everything. We are still living in a world where it's easier for men at the top of their professions to have everything. Because they're never expected to be as involved in their family's life as women are.
