If Rs don't extend, the ACA tax credits, lots of their constituents will be screwed. MAGA /s
Republican states rely most heavily on the tax credits - especially those that did not take the Medicaid expansion. Texas, Florida and Georgia alone, for instance, accounted for more than 40 percent of enrollees on Obamacare marketplace plans at the end of 2024, according to Capstone, a global strategy firm. More than 65 percent of enrollees are in Republican-led states.

Even in red states they’re huge portions of people who don’t vote MAGA or who are just so demoralized they’re completely checked out. I’m glad to see some organizations working to get more elected representation in those states because those people deserve representation, they don’t deserve us cheering for them to lose their healthcare.
Let’s have compassion for the people who are being hurt. I don’t care about the politicians.
I get so angry at GOP politicians and their lies but I can't stop thinking about people in these situations who don't deserve to suffer because of them. For every angry MAGA douche bag you see at the rallies, there are tons of other people in these states who aren't actively engaging because they are too busy working to feed their families and just get by or take care of an elderly relative or whatever. For many struggling people, daily life is overwhelming. And kids don't deserve suffering because of idiot adults. I just can't wish suffering on huge swaths of people because of the worst of the MAGA jerks.
