Best time to deal with wasps and yellowjackets is at night, or when under 50 degrees. They return to their nest and are more docile at those times. You will need to tuck your pants into long socks and wear thick denim they can’t sting through. Light colors if possible. A framed net over head and tucked into shirt.
If any come after you, go for a brisk walk immediately. They won’t fly too far from their nest.
Using a smoker, and blowing smoke at them, will make them docile at any time.
Where can I get a smoker? Any recommendations??

I had no idea I would encounter a nest in my backyard. Did know nothing about these insects until they followed me around while I as running away, had a violent allergic response and almost died on the way to the hospital. I’m grateful to be here, advising you to wear protective clothing that covers your whole body. Be vigilant.
