Chief engagement officer isn’t that different from chief marketing officer

Chief equity officer well honestly I’m always fascinated by how much hate this one gets but whatever

Okay now maybe those salaries could be cut by 50% but i don’t know that. Certainly I’m not crapping myself over them existing they are what they are

Now could the people in those positions do a better job at times I’m quite sure they could but that’s not for me to decide

Why do we need a marketing officer gor a public school system?

To be fair the local privates all do pretty extensive marketing. That said, I don't know that the FCPS marketing department needs to be huge.

DP. Why do we need a Chief Equity Officer, when there is already a Chief Academic Officer? They're just going to push initiatives that will require heavy legal attention as otherwise they'll invite lawsuits.

Those are completely different positions with different responsibilities.

Please cite examples. I don't think the feds or the state demand positions that pay what FCPS is paying their "leaders."

New poster here:
-Virginia Literacy Act
-VDOE requires extensive monitoring of assessments and student progress
-Title 1 has extensive oversight and requires staffing for compliance

OK but the executive principal position for the literacy stuff was actually created before the VLA was passed - and it was done under Brabrand. I know because that principal came from our ES.

I don't care if this is a fraction, these positions could be eliminated to add a position locally to a school that would make a much greater impact to students and/or teachers directly. Schools are short staffed and underpaid...Gatehouse is overstaffed and overpaid. And yes, it probably makes sense to split up FCPS. Clearly Reid can't handle managing most of it and just keeps getting raises. It's a great idea and one worth trying. But people love power and I doubt Reid or the Board would even consider it.

Gee. Title I has been with us for many, many years. Since the 1960's.
But, since the feds are withholding funds due to the transgender issue, I guess we don't need it anymore. However, the legal fees have certainly escalated unless they are getting it pro bono.
The Virginia Literacy Act: I would assume that somewhere i the organization there has been someone in charge of reading instruction. If there hasn't been, we are worse off than I thought. That would be the job of the person in charge to ensure that teachers have what they need-to include training. It takes a "plan"--not many people at Gatehouse with big dollar salaries.

You are excusing their bureaucracy.
