I think some people are just more susceptible to the virus that causes warts. Both of my kids swim, and they share a bathroom. Only one of them has an issue with warts. The other kid doesn't get them at all.

Your kids must be quite new to swim. Once you've seen a few locker rooms it all makes more sense.

I was a swimmer and my kids and husband like the pool.

Plantar warts are common.

Eventually they will go away by themselves (if the patient is not immunocompromised), but it’s easy to just use duct tape. You don’t need anything else - just duct tape.

The tape has to be covering the wart essentially all the time, so I used to have to keep after my kids. It takes a few weeks, but is completely painless and cheap.

Literally no one posts on this board about things like private swimming pools, the Water Mine, oceans, etc. The posts are all about swim teams (costs, gossip about, what costs include, volunteering requirements, NVSL, etc.), technique, meets, coaches, etc. Why would anyone who finds public swimming like swimming in sewage be here? It's like being on an NYC board and saying you think being in NYC is like walking in poo.


I find public swimming to be like sewage. But my child is obsessed with swim team so here we are. My child also got warts on their feet from it.

Eh, one of mine had a wart on his foot and after we used the wart stick, it was gone and no others have ever returned.

Family of swimmers of 15+ years...not that common

Sure, but what does that have to do with anything? We aren't talking about whether we find public pools kind of gross...we are talking about whether posters on this particular board are able to say they find them gross AND they will be avoiding public pools. In light of your kid being on a swim team, are you able to avoid pools?

Second for WartSTICK. We tried a bunch of other OTC solutions and the plantar wart seemed to be getting bigger and turning mosiac so I asked the pediatrician for a referral and she recommeded using the WarSTICK multiple times per day for up to 3 months. We are 6 weeks in and its still not 100% resolved but greatly improved, and no pain for the kiddo.
