Congrats on this! Where are you located (school district) and what did you sell in what price range? TIA. Did you sell below asking price? 1 offer?

That's not the right reason, PP. If you buy west of downtown Bethesda, there is no way you ever be zoned for Silver Spring schools. MCPS doesn't do long-distance buses, because it's costly and traffic is horrible. There are very few exceptions to this, namely, a certain tiny low-income Silver Spring enclave that currently attends BCC, and the magnet and special program buses. The "rich" will never get bused long-distance to the "poor" schools.
The reason you should wait a bit is that prices are likely to drop a little more. Maybe not by huge amounts, but for the first time in a very long while, it might actually be worth waiting.

People are also buying closer in when possible, given the commutes now that the Feds who haven’t been fired by DOGE are required to return to office. So a house in Rockville (particularly one that is far from public transport) will sit longer…

So Bethesda, Chevy Chase, McLean - have these neighborhoods ever stagnated?

Anonymous wrote:As always, people wishing to make it true so they can justify not purchasing earlier. Same shit with people sitting on the sidelines with cash as the S&P500 continues to rise. Buy in a good location and do it whenever you are able. Don’t wait for some supposed dip in the market, you’ll always be disappointed and left waiting.
