Last summer was abnormally dry. This one is abnormally wet. Climate change is affecting rainfall amounts throughout the world. In general warmer air holds more moisture, thus heavier rain and more flooding

The roads were so flooded on the beltway/270 about an hour ago that a firetruck sped by with an inflatable raft-- not kidding. There was a raft attached as if they were going to a scene with a river rescue.
I have not had to water the plants on my deck in weeks. One is so soiled that I suspect it may die soon from overwatering.
