+1. No one ever posts bust/waist/hip measurements. No one posts body fat %. We also have no idea how any particular size fits on someone (loose in one area, loose throughout, tight etc).

Yes, I agree. I am 5'6 125 lbs and according to the chart I should be a 6. I've never purchased anything in a US size 6 (I generally wear a 2). I've bought European clothes where they do have a conversion that seems dated and now inaccurate (ie, they say a French 36=US 6 but in reality a US 6 will not fit a 36 and vice versa).

I think people are thinking of a size 6 as being larger. It's really not. A size 6 is pretty small. I think of a size 6 as a thin person who has boobs and hips (whereas a 2/4 is a thin person with a smaller chest and narrower hips, and a 0 is very thin person with a very straight body).
Also if you are 5'8" and above, it's unlikely you will ever wear a 2/4 unless you are super model thin. So a tall but slim woman is like a 6/8.
Reading this thread is making me realize why so many of my size 6 friends seem to think they are not small enough and have this weird obsession with being a size 0 or 2. I have never understood this because a size 6 is not big and in order to be a 0 or 2, you generally have to be less curvy AND shorter, and I don't know a lot of women who wish they were a 5'2" A-cup (I am a 5'4" A-cup for what it's worth).
Also if you are 5'8" and above, it's unlikely you will ever wear a 2/4 unless you are super model thin. So a tall but slim woman is like a 6/8.

The above chart seems outdated, like from 1990. I am 5’7” and 130 pounds. In 1992, I purchased size 8 jeans from JCrew and could barely get them on. Now I’m a pretty solid 6, and a 4 on a good day. Typically size small on top.

The woman who is a size 12 does not look like she’s a 12. Garner could easily be a 8/10/12.

Agreed. She's got a small chest and has stayed proportional even into menopause -- she's probably about a size 6 and can probably diet down to a 4 in order to fit into couture for red carpets.
Jennifer Gardner is 5'8" and supposedly around 135 lbs.
She is thin, fit and tall.
