I agree! I did this and am now suffering the consequences.

There is so so much drama in the world, the last place I want excitement is my family life. DH and I are both normal, down to earth people. Even if we divorce (hopefully never), I am fairly confirmed we would have a decent relationship.

Boring would kill me. It is, in fact, killing me.

Why? I put “boring” under quotation marks because we are actually quite adventurous as a family but we don’t have any intra-family drama.

What kind of boring are you living through?

My husband is 2 years older and we are so happy together. I think you might be on to something!

Ask the British Royal Family how that works out for them. Poor Princess Diana. Her husband wanted someone his own age.

Don't marry anyone. Just date. Finally found a man I'm crazy about and wouldn't want to ruing it by getting married.
He is not hot for most women, but I find him extremely hot. He is also poor and has to work day and night. If he does have time, he spends it with me or goes to see what ex wife and daughter are doing.

Definitely do not recommend marrying someone whose ideas about gender roles were formed 20 years before yours.

Heh. I used to think that.
My 64 year old husband (I'm 57) walks and talks like Joe Biden now. I am more of a caregiver these days and THAT is not fun

As you get older, there is no real advantage to being younger (your husband will not care, you're just his wife and he'll continue to notice other women), and you will only see the disadvantages of having an old husband. When you're 25, being with a 45-year-old seems OK. When you're 50 and you have a 70 year-old husband, you'll see things very differently. I have a few friends in this situation and I feel really sorry for them. It's nice to be with someone in the same stage of life!

My wife is 40 and I am 55. She already has 3 chronic health conditions and drinks a lot of alcohol. I look younger compared to her despite being 15 years older. Women today do not necessarily engage in the healthiest of behavior. Sure you can have your skin routine on point, never miss your therapist appointment. However if you eat crap, drink several glasses of alcohol a week with the girls, your much older husband who engage in a healthier lifestyle will be the one making you look old instead.

If no one your age wants you, why do you think a younger woman will want you.

So if he were once married and have kids, would he then be acceptable lol? I thought it was about the age that's an issue lol.

You we are not allowed to say the same thing about women the same age who are u married and childless lmao

It seems to be sadly lol. My 58 years old friend just married his 32 years old fiance last week. I think men do get away marrying younger women.

Then you’re stuck taking care of a decrepit Peepaw when you’re still relatively young. Nah.
