I wore exact this type of sandals in federal and state court in northern Virginia with no issues. It is 90 degrees outside. No one should be wearing pimps in this weather.

I was imagining something very different! I think that if you have a good fresh pedi those work in general. I steer away b/c I don't like to rely on needing a pedi.
