I hope the parents have the stomach to sue and take down the whole operation.

Exactly.

I would love to read that. I talked to the owner when she first opened in Tenleytown and had major red flags

Like what? I had red flags when I met the owner of a different daycare in Old Town but people love it.

I asked if I could bring my baby there and stay to observe. I was told flat out no. I've used other daycare like Bright Horizons who are like yes, anytime you want to come by and spend time with your baby, come!

+1 would also be interested to know what the red flags were as I’ve had a great experience for 3+ years at two birds (until now) but have never had issues with the owners.

Lawsuit in works. Not sure about the investigative piece. If anyone has the connections, lots of parents will be willing to provide content

What made the video inappropriate? Just wondering what kind of crazy things are daycare workers doing these days.

I posted this on the other Two Birds thread and I think it’s worth posting here as this thread is specific to where the abuse took place.

I've worked in this field for a long time. The fact that this went on for EIGHT MONTHS before being reported is a huge red flag. The teachers didn't report it to the Director? Why? The Director didn't know it was going on. Why? Or worse, the Director knew it was going on but didn't report it to the owners. Why? Because there is a culture of fear and mistrust. If staff doesn't feel safe reporting something this horrific to their management team, there is a culture of fear and mistrust.

As someone mentioned on another post, these people are entrepreneurs. They most likely have investors who are funding their expensive expansions and build-outs. They're not paying attention to what is happening in their centers, nor are they cultivating a loving and safe environment for children or staff. They want to build value and cash out. Private equity is getting involved in this industry in a big way. You know once private equity gets involved, the goal is NOT providing quality care and education.

When looking for a quality program for your child, do your research.
