Edison is close but not close enough for the few minutes between classes and that makes no sense.
EDISON IS A TRADE SCHOOL. They do not offer Gen Ed classes. WHS partners with them. Edison does not help the overcrowding
What they are saying is to build more classrooms for Wheaton to use. Yes, we know it’s a trade school.
Are you a crazy person? Wheaton CANT have the same bell schedule as Edison bc the kids would never make it to class on time. Right now, kids take 10-15 minutes to walk. There is no world in which this would work unless you are going to separate underclassmen from upperclassmen, essentially separating Wheaton into two schools

New Boundary Study that will “help” with Wheaton’s overcrowding shows:
Option #1: Wheaton [...] would then be above 100% capacity.
Option #2: "All of the high schools would fall between 80% and 100% of enrollment capacity and the majority of the attendance zones would have contiguous boundaries, except for a small area of Wheaton’s attendance zone. "
Option #3: "Wheaton would be slightly above 100% of capacity."
Option #4: "Wheaton [...] would be at about 120% [of capacity]."

HOW IS THIS OK?!?!
It's not. It's sociopathic.
It’s ok as it’s a less wealthy area and the goal is to fix the wealthy areas. Dcc needs another school or two.
Agree that this seems to be a solution that should be explored, at least. Are there vacant buildings that could be repurposed in the relevant area?

Northwood will be reopened with additional capacity.
Yes but the problem is that Northwood is using the Woodward building for three years during construction. That is not desirable for a lot of DCC families. It is a longer bus ride and the sports situation is bad for the first year as Woodward is still under construction. I think the County wants to grant the COSAs where possible because of the inconvenience.
Yes, but "where possible" should be Kennedy or other schools with seats available.

wait so what's the over-capacity percentage at Wheaton in option 2?
