I guess. We don’t have a lot of full rides at our state u and I’ve found donut hole families (making 250k) just say, what the hell, and pay the 350 for take over the 200k for state u. The delta isn’t enough to stop them.

More typically $350k vs. $120k.



you live in a state that's cheaper than mine! but these are people who also buy pricey houses and nice cars. really, the 200k over 4 years is not the end all when you're an empty nester making 250k and salary is still rising


You make a lot of assumptions there.

My ivy kid said ivies aren't all that cuz 99% of recruiters and hiring managers who will give him jobs aren't ivy grads.

What's the CS attrition rate at CMU? If CS students can't graduate, CMU name is meaningless in sociology or anthropology. A Princeton sociology major can go to the White House.


At CMU, the high school applicant applies directly to the school/major.

If a student goes to CMU and does not graduate that is on them they were not prepared.

I had two go there. And others of mine went to other schools all basically same majors. One of which was MIT.

It is not the schools fault your student did not graduate.

we all get the duke and Stanford thing too.

I think a lot of media is getting traction on clickbait headlines leading people to believe that kids across the land are turning down Harvard for Alabama, and that's not often the case.

sure, 1 out of 100. but 99 are still picking Harvard.
