There was another horrible series with Michelle Monaghan called "Echoes" which I had to force myself to finish. It was one of the worst shows I've ever seen, but I had to see just how bad it was going to get.

It started off interesting, and I always like watching European shows because they are often more interesting than American shows: more dialogue, interesting ideas, and amazing cinematography. Plus, you get to learn about different languages and self-expression. I am half way through the season and it is getting progressively worse. All of these friends are dying in one place, and many of them are trying to move on as if nothing happened. What the heck. Maybe it’s because they are Swedish I only joke because part of my family is Swedish. The problem is that I need to finish the series because if am stubborn! How many of you force yourself to finish a series in this way, and which series were and why? I might have to confess that I watched one season of Love Island, which was the worst, but I had to see what happened in the end.

No. I would not do this to myself. I’ve stopped shows I didn’t like. I couldn’t even finish watching The Beef! Just horrible near the end. I read about the ending but couldn’t stand actually watching it.

However, I have a few times been talked into giving a show another chance and have been really glad I did. Two that come to mind are Breaking Bad and Ted Lasso.

OP here. I agree with you. I wanted to stop watching Peaky Blinders after season 1. It was too violent. I am that I kept watching because I love that show.

I used to compulsively finish, but have totally freed myself. My husband and I never watched the last three episodes of Ted Lasso season 3. Felt like such a chore by then that I wasn't even tempted.

I might honestly quit more shows than I finish at this point.

I mean, that's the only reason Grey's Anatomy is still on the air. The fans who can't stop until the end but then it gets renewed because they are still watching when really they want ABC to put them out of their misery.

Absolutely not. Once a show gets bad, I stop watching it. We watched the Avatar cartoon with the kids and it was good. We watched one episode of the live action Avatar TV show on Netflix and it was TERRIBLE and quit after one.

sometimes, I will keep watching something because I know so many other people seem to love it even if I am not loving it. So I probably give most of those shows more time than they deserve, but sometimes they DO get better and others, I just quit.

We watched a couple of episodes of Yellowstone and then just stopped. It wasn't the way I wanted to spend my time. A few others we've just lost interest in. We had to force ourselves to finish season 2 of White Lotus only because we wanted to see what happened. I did not enjoy the show at all and in fact found it disturbing.

No. Actually, I've quit couple of shows mid-episode, like 'Girls' and 'House of Cards'. Both had grown increasingly annoying for a while and then there was that one scene that was the last drop.

I remember the moment I realized I didn't have to finish a book if it wasn't keeping my interest. So liberating. I abandon shows all the time. Movies too. Zero guilt.
