I am in my mid-40s. One child - who will be graduating high school this year. I can't imagine having a child at 40. Child rearing is a lot of work. I look forward to getting to know my child during this next phase of her life and how our relationship will evolve.

Plus, I will have more energy/time to focus on my career, take up a new hobby, and spend more time with my husband.

Yes, 44. Has been great and DH and I both say it has kept us young.

That was my biggest nightmare through my entire 40s. I had three kids before I turned 30, almost empty nester at 48 (my youngest will be heading to college this year). I don't know about our marriage, but I would not be able to handle a new baby at 40s.

SMbC here; only child at 45. She has been my workout coach since her birth-- walking/ running each day, and now my running partner at 15 with her on her track team. She has kept my spirits high and optimistic even as I turned 60.
