We pay for lunch in Potomac LS (as do most, and it’s about $2k), but Potomac’s tuition is also a bit lower than others so perhaps evens out. Lunch is included with tuition for 7-12. We started with brown bag and quickly switched to school lunch and have been pretty pleased with it.

SSSAS upper school provides lunch. They use Sage, not Meriwether. DC is a picky eater but likes it well enough.

Not sure what’s included in the other divisions, DC started there in 9th.

FWIW, a lot of the area independent schools provide lunch via Meriwether Godsey. They seem to have a hold on the market.
They also have an app where you can see the menu for your school a week or two in advance.

My school (different metro) has done this for decades. It works very well. Assigned tables helps eliminate social competition for this or that lunch table. Wish more schools did this.

Lunch at STA is a huge part of the school day. Kids are assigned a table each month and it’s a mixed age group with a different teacher, coach or staff member who manages the table conversation. They talk or play games, etc. They seem to also love the food —- it’s family style at each table.

Sidwell US - snacks and the best school lunch I’ve ever seen. Breakfast and morning treats are provided on the few days with special programming instead of classes.

Lunch is included for the upper school and is very good according to DS. It’s actually made him branch out and try a lot of foods he didn’t previously eat. Not sure about the other divisions.

SAES lunch is included for LS, MS and US. Snack for LS as well.

Sidwell provides lunch for all students. Our kids love it. High-quality, delicious food with a ton of variety made everyday on site.
