I would add Michigan State and Syracuse to see if any luck. That would depend on the pattern of grades.

Apply as early as possible to show more interest. Make sure the application is deeply themed related to intended area of study. Make sure to show demonstrated interest- go to webinars, request brochures, etc.

Your son will have great options. No, he won’t be headed to an Ivy but many people manage to find success without an Ivy degree. The two most successful people from my private school graduating class in 1993 were in the 3rd and 4th quarter. They attended good, but not top, colleges.

All are decent schools but Oberlin and Smith are more competitive and don't belong on this list

gpas aren't comparable between public school that gives weighting for honors and AP and competitive privates that don't weight at all.

I think schools have their own formula to recalculate gpas for each student during the admission process.
