Pros:
Classes/professors seem to be strong and responsive.
Nice walkable area with restaurants/bars/etc
Affordable
Good shuttle system to get off campus
Lots of clubs/oncampus activities
Available oncampus housing if kid wants to stay all 4 years (not guaranteed - but available.)
Lots of close by off campus apartments (some furnished/some not)
Cons:
It is definitely a suitcase school and the weekends can be dead until kids find others who stick around (however, my kids rarely come home.)
I would definitely recommend it
Anyone know if Loyola Maryland or Stevenson have more of a social scene on the weekends?[/quot
Loyola Maryland has more kids from out of state so less of a suitcase school. My son goes there.
Does your son like Loyola Maryland? Why did he choose it? What other sxhools were comparable for him? On paper it looks right for my daughter…
He loves it. He’s studying abroad now. He was looking for a Catholic school within 3-4 hrs of DC. St Joe’s in Philly is very much like Loyola. He also liked Manhattan College and Duquesne. Come visit! I’m an alum myself.
Good to know
