We would love this! Send it to us. It's true that it's straight sugar, but a tbsp of sugar makes a surprising volume of cotton candy. It's really not egregious compared to other things these kids are allowed to eat.

It you want to do a cooking related item- my SIL gave my kids an awesome little waffle maker years ago that we still use years later. You could also consider aprons, set of kid baking utensils, etc. I recall seeing a lot of cute ideas at Williams Sonoma (and can always buy cheaper version or variation on Amazon lol).

I just posted about popcorn. Another idea my kids liked at that age was a box of board games. They were into twister, the one where you act things out, etc.

What about a small popcorn popper, cute serving dishes & toppings? Sur la table has a good selection. Their silicone microwave one works well, too. My kids live various toppings (different cheese flavors, sea salt truffle, caramel, etc)

Yeah but a cone/bag of cotton candy is like 1 teaspoon of sugar. You can put one hard candy in it and make a big serving of cotton candy and kids think it’s a hugely indulgent treat.

You can also use sugar free hard candy

I would also hate this. If a food maker item, I would prefer an air popper for popcorn or a snow cone maker with some all natural syrups (someone did get us one of those and we do use it for summer play dates). It’s really good with the real fruit syrups.

But board games are a great joint ptesrnt and they are a good age for that.

Get them matching aprons, a cookbook and some cookie cutters and sprinkles. Easier to store and still fun.

Absolutely not.

Please don’t get my kids this.

Exchange for a chocolate fountain machine 😄

My kids love this. I bought it for them. That said, it doesn’t create those huge puffs of cc. More like skinny cones of it.

This. We’d donate to the school or church.

The church or school do not want these junky things either. If they need cotton candy fr an event they rent the one from the rental place that actually works and makes enough for multiple kids.

These are junk and take up space. They don’t even work well. If you must, rent a real one for a party

I am a cotton candy fiend but I would not want that in my house. I think an ice shaver or one of those fancy popcorn machines would be more appreciated.
