Urick just took the DCE job, and left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths in the last few years.
Severns shouldn't even be considered. Ask any of the DCE 2027s how committed he is and how strong of a coach he is.
Bartozzi is strong, but Joseph and White were strong coordinators who were far ahead of him in the Bellistri coaching tree.
Umm, Dane has full access to the scholarship money and he is using it as much as possible. Many if not most of his players are on scholarship.
Maybe things have changed, but they didn't have scholarship money a few years ago for boys lacrosse. $1500ish was the max.
He has found the sweet spot in promising good players from low county and DC playing time and picking up Zingo's and Team MD kids geographically. Very smart.
How is there $1500 and no money at all? The school also openly touts $5 mil in need and merit based aid.
Yep Dane handles admissions at GC. Can collect players but not coach them.
Dane's GC Falcons had their best season in the past decade and the Falcons program has been climbing the ladder. Its JV team had a very successful run in the WCAC, taking home the WCAC ship. I know JV success doesn't always equate to future success at the varsity level but the program as a whole (from the level of coaching top to bottom) has improved dramatically since when he started. One goal losses to both Bullis and Landon this spring shows you just how far the program has come under his leadership.
Next year will be the start of Dane's 5th season as the HC, and while I know the Falcons lost some offensive firepower, I don't expect them to drop off as dramatically as many people believe they will. Dane is a great recruiter and meshes well with parents / prospective families. I anticipate they will remain in the top 3 in the WCAC next spring, behind SJC and GZ. (PVI graduates a ton, and their JV team was beyond ordinary.

Way too much talent on this roster for this team not to come home with a banner.
Next year is a rebuilding year on military road for sure !

Current admin is a bit too sports-obsessed and the level of pressure/ expectations to bring home banner after banner each year is likely "higher" there than any school in the region.
Speaks might find the balance of the IAC to be better suited for long-term interests.
+1 but it depends on how committed Bullis will remain to its lacrosse program. The current headmaster is obviously very invested in both the boys / girls track and the boys / girls basketball programs. H
He is invested in everything Bullis! Families have to be invested in Bullis and want to pay the tuition. It easy to pick SJC over Bullis for the tuition alone.
Thats a tough ask when other schools are handing out money. Hmmm....pay 40/50K plus in tuition for what is going to be dumpster fire of a program in 1 or 2 years, or get some money and go play with SJC who has reloaded at the 29 and 30 class
