The most interesting part of this is that Cheshire and Ironbound both joined the Mid Atlantic Division, WHICH CURRENTLY DOESNT EXIST

So I am guessing they are getting all of the NAL teams not getting Aspire to join DPL Mid Atlantic

With GA I bet clubs are also pushing for MLSN for their boys.

Competiton between leagues for member clubs is a good thing. Right now deciding factors are competitive levels. Once all the this is settled the next push by clubs will be for discounted league fees. Which would allow clubs to make more $$$ per player.

There's also a very good chance that a group of really top clubs are negotiating fees as a group.

Unfortunately discounted fees won't trickle down to the costs parents pay. Although it might translate into more scholorship players.

Yes, there are some clubs with great funding that fall under the radar in both leagues. I’m sure there are GA clubs that are pissed they aren’t champions cup clubs, but you have to be a top team in every age group to be accepted.

I think what is also going on behind the scenes is a lot of if you don't promote us we are leaving to GA or ECNL etc etc.

If anything, on the boys side, NPL should grow if it has MLSN clubs 3rd teams and clubs trying to break into the MLSN1/2.

Those leagues need to stay alive in case GA falls apart. Have to have something to fall back on.

Makes you know that things are changing. Even the latest attacking third podcast debating about if there should be NWSL age restrictions coming off of McKenna Whitham becoming the youngest to enter an official match should tell you the future will be different.

More money is coming into the women's side of the game, there will be a pipeline to pro for the girls side. NWSL doing away with the college draft, if you pull girls from college they're older than when they could have actually began training and assimilaging into a pro environment.

There were age restrictions. They were deemed illegal and removed. The MLS does not have age restrictions, why should NWSL?

Yeah they shouldn’t but with the history of abuse of the Nwsl from head coaches to GMs. It’s not really a good look as a 14 year old can be easily manipulated or misguided. Also what does it say about the league that there’s a 14 year old on the roster. Is she better than most older players in college or players playing pro somewhere else.

They shouldn't. But the point is that across the world, younger players are introduced to the pro/true academy environments at younger and younger ages, deservedly so. This will happen here as well, as the system evolves the ages will get younger on the women's side. Players like Whitham may be the exception but you'll likely see a lot more scenarios like Trinity Rodman. Doesn't go to college, gets to play in the NWSL for a few years and then heads overseas.

For Charlotte Independence, they had two ECRL teams (North/South). Believe their North team going to GA Aspire and South to DPL. Interestingly, they have no announcement of DPL on their own social media.
