Unemployment rate would be delayed, would 't it, for folks who get laid off with severance?
My DH has been unemployed since mid August but we received 14 weeks severance which runs out this month. So he has not filed for unemployment yet.
Would I be correct to guess that the October layoff bonanza won't hit the unemployment rate till a couple months afterwards?
People who have filed for unemployment benefits is a different metric that’s also tracked. This survey is just whether you’re employed or unemployed - someone who had lost a job but was still receiving severance would count as unemployed. Sorry about your DH.

Mr Ratner did mention that.
Are you out of work? Job market is abysmal, locally and everywhere in the country.
