If Landon was 40% at fogo, they win both games over GP by 4-5 goals. They were 8-50 appx in the 2 games combined.
PVI shredded GP in their scrimmage as it was 5-2 at half and 7-2 at the end of starter time.
All for discussing theoretical IAC vs WCAC champion match-ups, but how does anyone take the results of a scrimmage from nearly 3 months ago and apply them now. Teams improve and learn how to play within their system (especially a team like Prep with a first year HC), coaches make adjustments to approach and personnel as the season goes on, players get injured or come back from injury... not to mention teams focus on different things in pre-season scrimmages and aren't necessarily worried about the score. With your logic - PVI and Gonzaga shouldn't have even played their WCAC playoff game - Gonzaga beat them in OT in the regular season, so they should have won the playoff game - but alas, PVI won the game by 6 goals.
And as for Landon beating Prep if they'd won more face-offs... Okay, well Prep should've beat Landon in past years if only their defense was stronger, or their attack scored more goals or their goalie stood on his head and stopped every shot. The teams put their best players out at every position for both games and Prep won both. Landon is a fantastic program with a rich history who dominated the IAC the last 2 years - it's okay to own the fact that Landon lost to Prep 2x's this year and not make excuses.
