Not sure about Mens Lacrosse but Women's you get 1/4 or 1/3 scholarships if your not their top player for the class. Who gets 70%-80% Scholarship usually. So yes Berkeley is cheaper probably half the cost of a NESCAC with the money she will get.

I have talked to a lot of kids that go D1 and then don't play or quit in their freshman year. Plus D1 coaches own you all year and you can't do travel abroad.

DIII is more relaxing and easier practices for half the year and more rewarding for a player that would dominate in that setting. I get the idea of going for it but will she regret when she's 30 that she didn't get the college experience?

NESCAC would be Middlebury and Amherst 2000 kids as the likely schools where she would end up. Whats the better option? Life, Job and Sports???

Anyone have thoughts?

What does she want to do? Why are you steering her towards Amherst/Middlebury?

If she got any kind of scholarship to Cal that would be pretty awesome compared to paying for Amherst/Middlebury...
