Didn't see this thread until now, but literally said to my DH this morning that DS can't go to school in TX. I won't put him and in that position as a college student and while we have plenty of money to fly people anywhere for medical care eff if I'm going to deal with vigilantes looking for 10K.

Yes, but it's a winner take all approach where the state government is committing clear overreach (and then gerrymandering and restricting voting to prevent Democrats from benefitting politically from people upset by the overreach).

Even disregarding how foks feel personally about the law, it depresses interest in the state in general. It is considered such an extreme overreach that it drives away potential students, employers, employees, etc.
